We believe in every word of the Old and New Testaments,
that God inspired humans to write without error. The Bible is the
Word of God. It is the standard of faith as well as the absolute
truth for every aspect in a believer's life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
God
We believe in the one true and eternal God, the Creator of everything.
There is one God existent in three persons: the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit. Each person is equal but has a different role,
working together to deliver man from sin to receive salvation. (Matthew
28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus
Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was
supernaturally conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit and
born of the Virgin Mary. While on earth, He was both perfectly God
and perfectly man at the same time, and was without sin. He was
crucified on the cross to save mankind from sin and physically rose
from the dead on the third day to fulfill the will of the Father
to provide salvation from sin to each person who believes in Him.
He ascended physically to heaven and is seated at the right hand
of the Father. One day in the future, He will come again a second
time to establish His kingdom. (Luke 1:26-38, Philippians 2:5-11,
Hebrews 1:3-4)
The
Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God who convicts
people of sin and draws them to be born again. He dwells within
believers to enable them to lead holy lives. As well, He helps believers
live lives in obedience to His will and serve the Body of Christ
using the gifts He has given them. We believe each gift of the Holy
Spirit mentioned in the Bible is still active in the Church today
and should be developed to build up the Body. The baptism of the
Holy Spirit, an experience separate from being born again, gives
Christians power to serve God. Speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit
enables is the initial sign of being baptized in the Holy Spirit.
In the Christian life, every believer must live in obedience to
Christ and be under the covering of the Holy Spirit. A Christian
should always be filled with the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:49, John
15:26, Romans 12, Acts 2:4)
Angels
and Evil Spirits
We believe God created many angels. These
angels were created without sin but Lucifer intentionally sinned
and was then called Satan. Some of the angels followed him to become
fallen angels. Satan rules in this sinful world; however, he does
not have power over God. He endeavors to destroy God's plan and
man's life. (Ezekiel 28:13-15, Isaiah 14:12-14)
Man
We believe that Adam and Eve were created sinless, but they intentionally sinned, causing all humans to fall under the power of sin. For this reason, it is necessary for every person to receive salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Without salvation, a person will receive the penalty of eternal destruction in hell. (Genesis 1:26, Romans 5:12-18)
Salvation
We believe that a person can only be saved when he or she puts his or her faith in the Lord Jesus. Salvation is given by the grace of God and not because of one's own works. True confession, faith and trust in Christ will lead to repentance from sin. At the point of salvation, an individual becomes a new creation in Christ and is gradually transformed to become more like Jesus. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
The
Church
We believe in the worldwide (universal) Church, made
up of all those who trust in Christ throughout every age, together
as the Body of Christ. In the same way, we believe in local churches
which are made up of believers who regularly meet together in different
areas to worship, hear the Word of God, fellowship, witness, take
communion and pray, among other activities. Every Christian should
be a member of a local church.
The Church is the answer to everything in human life. God's intent
is to use the Church to touch every part of every human life in
the world. The church is necessary for the needs of every human
to be met and is the principle instrument that God uses to do so.
(1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 3:9-10)
Baptism
and Communion
We believe that baptism is the immersion
of a person completely in water as a symbol of the death, burial
and resurrection of Christ. Those receiving baptism must be born
again and have put their trust in the Lord Jesus. Communion is a
ceremony to remember the death of Jesus. It is to be celebrated
often, when believers gather together, until Jesus returns. (Acts
2:34-38, 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)
Healing
We believe it is God's normal intention to heal Christians
who have sicknesses or diseases except at times when God allows
them to leave this world to be with Him. The Church must follow
the command of Christ to heal the sick through prayer and to minister
to them through the miraculous power of God. We do not reject medicines
or procedures from medical science, nor do we believe that God always
heals the sick immediately. However we acknowledge that at times
he has a purpose in gradually healing people. (Acts 4:30, 1 Corinthians
12:9, James 5:14)
Worship
We believe that Christians must worship the Lord in spirit and
in truth. Worship is acknowledging the worthiness of God and opening
our hearts to God. Worshipping according to Biblical patterns enables
us to use outward expressions to come close to God. Some of the
patterns we find in Scriptures include worship with other Christians,
using musical instrument, singing, and using the gifts of the Holy
Spirit during worship times. (John 4:23-24, Psalm 150:1-6)
Eternal
Judgment
We believe that every person will rise from the
dead on the final day. Believers will live with God in heaven and
will be eternally blessed. Those who do not believe will be judged
and receive eternal punishment in hell. (John 5:24, 2 Thessalonians
1:9, Revelation 20:10-15)
Obedience
to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ
According to Matthew
28:18-20, every Christian must live their lives to fulfill the Great
Commission, regardless of ethnicity, economy or geography. Our intention
is to reach the entire world for God; acting locally, but thinking
globally.
A biblical method for evangelizing the world is to plant seed churches.
A seed church is one that inherently has the potential to plant
other churches until the entire country is saturated with such seed
churches.
